PDF of Manuscript Sent to Referee
In most cases, we generate our own PDF file for all submissions received
at the Editorial Offices. It is this PDF file that is forwarded to the
referee(s). You can view this file once you have received an
acknowledgment from us containing the Editorial Accession Code, or, in the
case of a resubmission, an email stating that your files were successfully
processed.
It may be to your advantage to view the PDF file created here so that any
problems with figures or text can be identified. You may also make use of
this file when specific page numbers are given by a referee.
Please note that in some cases the PDF file may be incomplete or
unavailable. Generally, the incomplete files will be missing one or more
figures. This occurs, for example, when submissions include figures in
formats other than PostScript, when PDF and MS Word manuscripts do not
include embedded figures, or when there are difficulties processing the
submitted figures. An incomplete or unavailable PDF does not mean that
the review process has been interrupted. It is not necessary to provide
new file(s) at this time unless requested.
You can check the PDF file that we generated by logging into the
Submissions Server.
If you have not used the server before you will need to register
first. You will then be able to click on the button that reads
"PDF of your submitted manuscript(s)". It is the last button
of the list, under the heading "What would you like to do?"
You will be redirected to the resubmission page, and on the right hand
side you will see a statement that reads "PDF file of your manuscript
as sent to referees". Click on the "PDF file" link in that statement
and you will be able to access the PDF file that we created.
